The Knepp Estate is dedicated to a pioneering rewilding project that allows natural processes to regenerate the landscape without aiming for specific outcomes, using free-roaming grazing animals as proxies for extinct herbivores to create a mosaic of habitats. This approach has transformed the former intensive dairy and arable farm into a profitable site of wildlife abundance, supporting the recovery of rare species like white storks, turtle doves, and purple emperor butterflies while fostering a resilient rural economy through nature tourism, safari experiences, and regenerative farming.

The Knepp Wildland Foundation was founded to galvanise nature recovery across Sussex and contribute to our global effort to reverse our biodiversity crisis.
