Herenboeren
Herenboeren is a fast-growing citizen movement that proves that the production of our daily food can be different, better and above all more sustainable. With more than 9000 Herenboeren, it is clear that this approach is catching on. Each Herenboerderij is owned by a cooperative consisting of 250 households, who jointly distribute the harvest. As a member of a nature-driven Herenboerderij, you have the unique opportunity to take control of your own food production. The three pillars are: nature-driven, socially connected and economically supported. The seven principles are: a Herenboerderij is a cooperative, appreciation of minimal labor is guaranteed in the budget, production is tailored to the nutritional needs of the members, products are not sold, financing only through deposits and contributions, nature-driven production and being an active part of a learning and experimenting network.
